We can help you organise a customised trip to Nepal.
Every year we take a fully escorted trip to Nepal. Some of the trips have quite ambitious goals like marathons and Trekkers peaks, while others are aimed at regular trampers.
Because we have been visiting regularly we have a good knowledge of what is practical and have many less known places we can recommend. Through our partner Shangrila Treks we can organise custom tours that will be both truely customised to fit your ambitions and fitness as well as very competitively priced against standard tours.
2013 Escorted Trips
So many options and so much on the bucket list, it is difficult to decide - so it will probably come down to the first group to come up with a solid request. From easiest to hardest my short list is:
Acees to this restricted valley has only recently beecome easier for foreigners. This is a chance to see a remote buddhist area that is geographically and ethnically very similar to Tibet. We will explore the old cave dwellings that have 1500 year old paintings in a style that is still produced today.
An ability to comfortably walk three hours a day and a sense of adventure is all you need. See the Mustang Itinerary for more details.
Everest Base Camp
This is a busy route and too often done too quickly. However there are many ways to have a very special trip in this remarkable region. Walk in from the road end at Jiri and enjoy the ciultural aspects, include some of the 5,000m passes (no climbing skills required) or take the luxury accommodation option. Can work really well in winter (December-January) when the lack orf crowds compensates for the colder temperatures.
One of the most demanding treks in Nepal it includes the chance to climb Mera Peak (6,461m). It is not a technical climb, but participants need to be comfortable alpine trampers familiar with ice and crampons. It is top of my wish list.
We can help you arrange a customised tour in Nepal. It need cost no more than a regular scheduled trip, but you will have the advantages of travelling as a small group, going to the places that suit your interests and travelling at a pace that suits your group.
You travel with a local guide - and porters to carry the load.
There are many superb locations to visit in Nepal and far more to see than just the mountains. Chitwan offers a widlife special with elephants, rhino, bears and gharials in a tropical jungle. The passes near Everest Base camp - views that and a sense of being that exceed the actual visit to base camp. Langtang offers a mix of villabe and mountain scenes, Mustang a glimpse of old Tibet, Manaslu of traditional mountain remote village life, Makalu - one of the few remaining Himalayan wildernesses.
